SLIGHT IMPROVEMENT SHOWJN AT TE AWAMUTU SALE New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., Hamilton, report that at their Tei Awamutu sale on Friday, conditions were as follows: — Cattle: Ahout a medium number of fat cattle came forwiard, while there was noticeable decreas© in the number of store cows yarded, although the yearling heifer pens were fairly well filled. Late Frankton rates were fully maintained on the cow beef, while stores lalso soid just about on a par. A few good pens of jearkng heifers met with a fairly brisk demand althoiigh practically the full entry changed hands at prices which seemed satisfactoiy to vendors. There was not much demand for a few bulls. A few dairy cows met with considerably improved demand, and sold at prices showing an appreciable improvement on recent quotations. Prime fat bullocks £4 10s to £4 19s; prime fat cows and heifer beef, £2 15s to £3 9s; medium quality do. £2 3s to £2 12s 6d; poorer conditioned £1 16s to £2; unfinished cattle £1 10s to £1 15s; good store cows £1 ls to £1 7s; plain 13s to 17s; boners up to 12s; best dairy cows and heifers , made from £5 10s to £7; fair sorts £4 10s to £5 10s; inferior £3 5s to £4 5s; good yearling heifers £2 10s to £3 4s; I medium do. £1 12s 6d to £2 5s; inI ferior, £l.--5s to £1 10s. | Sheep: Several paris of fat and j store ewes hrought late rates. Prime maiden ewes made from 10s to 11s; prime fat young cows, 5s 6d to 6s 4d; inferior 5s to 5s 6d. A line of inferior ewes and lambs 4s ld all count1 ed. A pen of light hoggets 8s 3d. Pigs: Although there was a full yarding again, stores and weaners i predominated. Competition was brisk>er than has heen ruling at recent saies, values as a result improving >a shade for all sorts. Heavy porkers £1 4s to £1 8s 6d; light porkers £1 ls to £1 3s; large stores 16s to £1 ls; slips 11s to 15s; large weaners 8s tc 11s; smaller 5s to 7s.
