DEI'UTY LEADER OF FEDERAL OPPOSITION IS - SUSPENDED. SHOUTING AGROSS HOUSE.

Canberra, Nov. 17. The deputy-Leader of the Opposition Mr. F. M. Forde, was suspended for the remainder of the sitting after a rowdy scene in the House of Representatives during the consideration in committee of the Ottawa Agreement Bill.

Following Mr. Forde bemg called to order several times, Mr. A. Parkhill, who had charge of the House, subsequently moved, amid uproar, that Mr. Forde be suspended. The Opp'osition tellers declined to take the count and the motion was agreed to. Earlier there had been a scene of wild disorder. 6 Only an hour was allowed hy the Government for the discussion of Article 12, which was held by the Labour Party to be the most contentious of the agreement. When Mr. Parkhill rose to speak the Labour members hegan shouting, and it was impossible for Mr. Parkhill to make himself heard above the din of interjections, which lasted ten minutes. Mr. Riordan was named, hut withdrew his remarlc and apologised. When the guillotine fell Mr. Parkhill and Mr. Beasley were on their feet shouting at each other at the top of their voices. The clause was carried hy 37 votes to 21.
