PROPOSED AUSTRALIAN CONTROL OF WOOL PRICES

Rec. Nov. 17, 7.35 p.m. London, Nov. 17. Mr. S. M. Bruee, visiting Bradford and speaking at a luncheon given hy the British Federation of Industries, gave assurance that no foolish action would be taken by Australia on the Commonwealth Wool Committee's report. The Government would not he party to any wilcl schemes creatihg an artificial position in respect to prices which would eventually react on Australia. He also emphasised 'that the tariff policy was due to financial, not fiscal consideration and the neeessity of meeting external obligations.
