BLOAT IN DAIRY COWS
Referring to bloat in dairy cows, a correspondent in a Southern papei draws attention to the fact that cows that had wintered badly were predisposed to this trouble, and fell eas;, victims to bloat when put on to ' rici pasture. The statem'ent was referrcc to a stock inspfeetor,, who agreec that such' was the case. He addec that bloat was encountered in remarkably f.ew cases in herds ,that hac been well fed during the winter Where cows had been under-nourish-ed, the digestive organs were not capable of assimilating a large quantitj of rich' food immediately, and conse quently bloat resulted.
