RIGID COACHWORK

An interesting method of eonstrueting saloon bodies is now being developed in the United States. This consists of making a eombined pressing and stamping of a complete half of a saloon body. The halves then require only to be welded together, strengthened where necessary, and equipped with damping material to eliminate "drumming" when the car is running. Besides producing extremely rigid and slowly depreciating coaehwork, this method of construction should materially reduce the cost of body-building.
