Melbourne, November o. The official report on the 'Granites Goldfield says that little work has been done yet, hut samples from several claims showed gold. Eighty men are on the field. The only well is making 140 gaiions of water daily, though some of this may he the result qf soakagq from recent rainS. Shares in the Granites companies have fallen. For instance, Chapman company shares have receded from 4s 6d to 2s 3d and Granites (£5 paid) from £22 to £15, but at the close of the . day: there was a stronger tone on the Exchange. '
