CABBAGE MOTH

Exhibited in the Aard Company's window, Opotiki, is a captured specimen of the white butterfly (pieris rapae) or cabbage moth that has caused much damage to vegetable gardens locally. It is not known where the pest originated but it is surmised that it arrived in this country from Hawaii; it has also caused much damage in England. The Agriculture Department has a very effective . spray to combat this .■ trouble and information can be received from the local stock inspeetor.
