OFFER BY ENGINEER TO CONSTRUCT RAILROAD
. — By Telegraph — Copyrlght)
Canberra, Nov. 3. The Minister of the Interior has reeeived an offer made by an unnamed engineer to construct a railway from Alice Springs to the Granites goldfield if land for the track is made available, the builders to receive the profits for fifteen years, after which the line will revert to the Government. The Minister says that although the field is extensive and the prospects hopeful, financial and other considerations make the suggested railway construction doubtful.
