Rec. Oet. 31, 7.0 p.m. Dublih, October 31. The increase of duties on farm products to 30 per eent. after Novdmbei: 11, spells ruin. The effect upon the Christmas trade is likely to be calamitous. The Free State whole agricultural policy is heading for bankruptcy, producing a feeling that a political crisis is certain within the next few weeks. The Labour Party is growing increasingly restive, unemployment i» rising to an alarming proportion and the resources of poor relief are in th© last stages of exhaustion. Anything may happen if the Government adds to the discontent by enf orcing the collection of annuities.
