ONE BORN THERE
Sir, — I was an interested listener to the address delivered by the Rev. Dr. Rushbrooke last Tuesday evening in connection with the above subjeet. It is to be regretted that such is the ruling order of the day in Russia, but who is to be blamed for the AntiChrist campaign, the closing of plaees of worship and all general desecration? There are many reasons for it, and even the English speaking races are not entirely blameless,' but the chief reason is that the Russian orthodox church so abused the almost unlimited power given to it during the Tzardom that the Jews were praetically driven from the country. The Jews did not take the attacks made upon them lying down and prayers and public fasts were resorted to. The Jews hoped and prayed that the day would eome when the Tzardom regime and the Russian orthodox church would be abolished and now their prayers are hearing fruit. — I am, etc.
