LATE RATES ON GOOD YARDINGS AT MATAMATA Hamilton, Thursday. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company Ltd , report having held their Matamata stock sale yssterday, when the usual heavy yarding of cattle came forward. Beef were yarded in good numberS and sold at late rates. A heavy entry of store cattle was penned, comprising mostly yearling heifers which found a ready sale, while choice quality were keenly sought after. A few pens of steers sold at late rates. Store and boner cows remained at unchanged values. There was a good yarding of bulls with yearling pedigrees in good demand. Sheep : A good yarding of hoggets and these sold at late rates. Pigs: A heavy yarding of all classed of pigs came forward, there being an extra good yarding of prime quality
bacon pigs. Competition was good for all sorts and pi'ices remained firrn at values equal to Frankton rates. Quotations: Pigs. Choppers £1 4/- to £1 12/-; prime heavy baconers £2 3/to £2 6/-, other heavy baconers 39/to £2 2/-, medium baconers 36/- to £2, light baconers 32/- to 36/-; heavy porlcers 27/- to 30/-, light porkers 23/6 to 26/-, stores 20/- to 23/-, slips 15/6 to 18/6, weaners 11/- to 14/6, smaller weaners 7/6 to 10/-, Tam. sows in pig £3 7/6 to £3 10/-. iDairy Cattle: Best Jers. heifers close to profit £5 5/- to £8; other Jers. heifers £3 to £4 15/-, Friesian heifers close to profit £4 to £5, Jersey cows in milk £4 to £5 5/-, Jersey cows close to profit £5 to £6-' 10/-. Sheep: Heavy woolly hoggets 11/5, lighter woolly hoggets 9/11 to 10/-, store woolly hoggets 7/6 to 8/10; aged ewes with lambs, all eounted 4/-.
