OUTLOOK FOR COMING SEASON MOST SERIOUS MR. POLSON'S PREDICTION Wellington, Saturday. The executive of the Farmers! Union met to-day, and placed on record its appreciation of the services rendered by Sir Francis Boys, of 'Christchurch, who represented the union in an advisory capacity at 'Ottawa." Mr. W. Polson recommended phe setting up of a permanent committee to deal with questions of national importance,, and said he would move at a later stage in this direction. He, said the outlook for the 'coming season was .most serious, and the position was becoming "such thaf farmers could not be hlamed for demariding tha,f further consideration' sfiould be given to them. • Rural telephoiles were discussed. It was agreed that the matter would probably right itself, and the meefing decided'to take no further 'aetion. A committee was set up to report on the subject of a. central bank, on the lines of the Niemeyer report. Mr. Polson said the union should define its attitude before the mattfer was finalised by the Government.
