Barrett had been with them 1 years and had always earried out duties with zeal and cheeriness. was always ready to put himself i to render assistance and they were' very sorry about his leaving and i cerely hoped that in his new posit he would carry out his duties i the same efficiency he had displaj here and be happy and prospero He then handed Mr. Barrett a foi tain pen as a rememhranee of friends in Rotorua. , ; Mr. M. H. Hampson, expressedj bar's appreciation of Mr. Barrel services. They had always foundl ready to help and he (the spaab hoped the time would come when ti might be able to address him "Your Worship." Mr. J. L. Crowther, clerk of Court, declared that no one regref Mr. Barrett's dap'arture more than did, and his assistance would he gre ly missed, especially at election tiii He was convinced that Mr, Ear; had a great future before him. 1 In a brief reply Mr. Barrett i pressed his thanks and regret at le ing Rotorua and hoped he wouli as happy in Auckland as he had b h'ere. ,
