PROFESSOR AWAROED STIFF DAMAGES' FOR OUTRAGE Capetown, Oct. 21. Professor Lamont, who was tarred and feathered and ejected from his motor in Pretoria Square by students and others as a protest against reflections on the Voortrekkers contained in a book he had written, was awai ded £/50 damages. Judge de Waal said that if the author felt the necessity to expose the depravities and bestiality of war and life there was no necessity for attack by Voortrekkers.
