ECHO OF CROUPIER CASE AFFECTS MANY HORSES CQRRY AND PATERSONS

Wellington, Monday. J. J. Cprry, of Blenheim and John and James Paterson, of Auckland, as a result of the decision in the lawsuit for the ownership of the racehorse Croupier have all been disqualified for 12 months under Rule- 121 of the Rules of Racing by the Racing Conference. The effects of this disqualification are likely tp be very far-reaching Last year Mr. Corry headed the list of winning owners and his trarper T. R. George thp list pf winning trainers. Mr. Corry won £6275 10s in stakes, the iprincipal • contributors being: Landmarlc (£1613), Croupier (£1545), Mqke-Up (£743), Mijadi (£684 10s), Kozqn (£391), Appledore (£333). Others who earned placp pioney were Imateagirl and Imarosebud, Projection, Revisipn, Johneen and Cessation. The effeet of the disqualification will extend to these horses unless they are disposed of or transferred to another owner. The Corry stable is the largest in the Dominion and in addition to racing in New Zealand several were taken across the Tasman where Appledqre, fpr ope, won a couple of hurdle races. Landmark also earned stake money. Mr. Corry had eleyen horses in training in New Zealand qnd won 40 races lagt season in New Zealand and twp in iVristralia.
