SUNDAY MEETING.
Auckland, Sunday. The position in the slaughterman's dispute was unchanged in Auckland during the week-end. This morning, a meeting attended by over 400. memr -bers of the hutch'ers and slaughtermen's unions, was held at the Trade's Hall, and satisfaction with the present situation was generally expressed. A motion to approach the employers for a resumption of negotiations fot wages and conditions of work receiveq no support, oniy two voting for it, they being the mover and the seconder. Union pfficials said that 95 per cent. of the memhers of th'e district were present at the meeting. Reports werfe received from all centres to the effec|: that no regrets "were entertained fojthe situation. On Friday a similar meeting wag hejd at Horotiu works, about |720 unionists being present, and the same attitude wa? adopted.
