REVELATIONS OF CQRRUPTION IN REPORT OF COMMISSION REWARDS FOR CONTRACTS

Brisbane, Oct. 22. The report of '.the Royal Comlnission, which inquired into the alleged payment of secret eommissions to butter factory managers and others, has been tabled in the Assembly. The Commission found that a payment of £1500 to Mr. Harry Walker, M.L.A., by Messrs. Wildridge and Sinclair, Limited, was a secret payment, and was made in response for a contract for the Gympie butter factory. The Commission also found that a large number of factory managers and others engaged in the dairying industry received secret eommissions from machinery companies, which j were also inculpated. 1 Payments totalling £30,874 were 1 made to factory officials. : The Premier, Mr. Forgan Smith, ! stated the whole matter had been 1 referred to the Crown Law Office re1 garding any further action that may j be taken. _____
