Cycling Club held in the Dolly Varde Tearooms on Friday evening, to co: sider the position which had arise concerning the cycling memberg t the club and to complete the busine, adjourned from the annual meeti; held during the previous week, M G. H. Weir occupied the chair. In opening the proceedings f» chair man briefly outlined the reas for the meeting and the discussi; which had occurred at the previo meeting, and read a letter from ti cyclists setting out their claims f representation in the management i the club affairs. The cyclists ask: that a representation of three mejj bers be granted to them on the M ecutive committee and also suggosM that sports meetings he held weeil| instead of fortnightly as occurrJl last season. . ^ After much discussion fqy aiM against the proposal it was decidfl that as the rules of the club h|| not been eonfirmed by a geneS meeting, time would be saved by coB sidering the position in conjunctiH with this discussion when the rulS stipulating the size of the committS was reached. i This proceedure was agreed to aJS on reaching the committee clau« which stipulated that the committS should he seven members, plS officers, Mr. A. G. Cottrell movedS amendment that the committee ccS sist of ten members, plus officeS three to represent cyclists and tlirS the lady members of the club. In the ensuing discussion vario; points of view were advanced and counter amendment "by Mr. Pitts ti; the committee be composed of k non-active members and one delega: representing the cyclists and ladia was ruled out on a point of ordi raised by Mr. Cottrell.
