The Gow.rnment meteorolojiist issued the following weather report and forecast last nigrht: — General situation: Barometers have rjsen slightly over the Dominion since Saturday night, but another depression is now crossing -the Northern Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds nioderate to strong, north-easterly to northerly, north of New Plymouth and Napier, veering shortly to southerlies, elsewhere moderate to fresh south-easter-lies to southerlies. Weather: Cloudy and unsettled generally with scattered rain in most districts, but fair, hov/ever, in Westland; temperatures becoming cooier. Following are the barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Sta* tion by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday.
