NO MORE APPOINTMENTS UNTIL AFTER THE SESSION

Wellington, Friday. The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, stated to-night that appointments or re-appointments to the Legislative Council would not he considered until after the. session. As three members, Sir R. Heaton Khodes, Hon. G. Witty, and Hon. L. M. Isitt, retire on Oetoher 28, the strength of tke Council will be reduced to 22. It is stated that the Government is considering hringing the strength of the Council up to 30 before the next session.
