SWIMMING
Mr. J. B. Deas intends to attempt a long distance swim in the Whakatane River on Sunday next. The distance will be between six and seven miles. He will commence about 10.30 a.m. and hopes to finisli opposite the town about 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Mr. Deas swam across Lake Rotorua last year.
