QUOTED AT OVER £6 AN OUNCE IN LONDON

London, October 19. Gold, which on Tuesday was quoted at £6 per ounce, on Wednesday advanced to £6 2s 2d. The rise is attributed to the fall in sterling in Paris and New York. - The rush to sell trinkets has recommenced. In February the price of gold was quoted in London as high as £6 0s ld. It then fell to £5 18s 9d. It has, in recent weeks, ranged from £5 19s ld to £5 19s lOd. The standard price for gold is £4 4s llld.
