GIFT EVENING

Miss D. Graham, who is to he married on Labour Day, was the guest at a jolly "gift" evening in the Farmers' Social Rooms on Tuesday. The ro oms were decorated with bowls of snowdrops and greenery and paper sLreamers hung from the light shades. Mrs. J. Hopkins received the guests and after supper, Mr. W. Reece briefiy explained that the purpose of the iathering was to wish Miss Graham „he best of luck in her wedded life. Mr. J. Harriman, on behalf of Miss Graham, thanked the ladies for the many useful gifts and for the fine entertainment they had provided that evening. "For They're Jolly Good Fellows" .•as then snng and many hearty cheers ■iven. The happy eveping was finally concluded by the singing* of "Auld .ang Syne." Among the ladies present were: —
