LABOUR PARTY COMMENCES ATTACK ON OTTAWA AGREEMENTS PENSIONS AMENDMENT
Wellington, Tuesday. There was only a short sitting *of the House of Representatives this* afternoon when a resolution, expreSsing appreciation of the serviees of the late Mr. G. C. Black, was passed. This evening, Mr. M. J. Savage led the Labour Party comment on the Ottawa decision. Hon. J. G. Cobbe introduced the Pensions Amendment Bill .proppsing to place miners' wid.ows, irrespbdtive of age, on the same footiug as "those applying for old age pensions. Pi*ovision is also made to allow a miner receiving a pension to leave New Zealand for a period not exceeding six months without forfeiting the pension. Those receiving hlind pensions are allowed to leave the country for a period not exceeding two years for treatment.
