Tradesman went right out from the barrier and won without anything else getting within three lengths of him. That just about deseribed the race. Hunting Cry under the big weight, went well enough considering that the time was 1.13 4-5, while Huntingdon ran a decent race to get into third place. High Comedy was fourth and Imamint next. Gold Day, the Thames horse, turned out in view of the later Country meetings. Woi? by four lengths, a length between second and third. Time,' 1,13 4-5. There was absolutely no doubt that Lady Lulu won the New Lynn Handicap, but the judge "Bob" Lusk was so flustered that he awarded the race to Delrain by a head, and in placing the fourth horse, he indicated that he was unable to decide between Arch Ruler and Mahkill, who actually finished last and fifth. It was a very poor start from which Bugle Call, Delrain and Lady Lulu hopped. Catch 'Em was broadside on and Arch Ruler had his back to the field. Delrain ran to the front from Lady Lulu, Bugle Call, Knight of Australia and Currajong. Into the turn for home, Lady Lulu took charge from Delrain, Master Brierly, Currajong and Bugle Call. Lady Lulu appeared to be in front at the post by half a length from Delrain with Bugle Call a length back.
