Rec. Oct. 17, 8.50 p.m.' Montgomery, Alabama, Oct. 16. One convict was slain and 23 wounded hy rifle fire at Sepigner prison on Sunday, when an attempted. eseape by 16 convicts was followed by a general uprising, in which' more than half the population of the prison, 950, participated.
