The first prize of £5000 in -the "latest New South Wales lottery which was won in Auckland was held by a syndicate of six. They are:-1— Miss Hilda Adye, of 32 -O'Neill Street, Ponsonby. ; it-$ Miss Doris Adye, of 32 O'Neill Street, Ponsonby, Mr. and Mrs. C. Malyon, of 32 O'Neill Street, Ponsonby. • Mr. W. T. Wehb, ;of 9 Arthur treet, Ponsonby. - • Mr. T. Murphy, of 22 Wellesley Street City. • - >•; Mr Murphy is holding the ticket on behalf of the syndicate . and he was the first to get the news. . He is a garage proprietor in the ' city. : Mr. Murphy said that as far as he personally was concerned the . money would come in particularly handy- as only recently he had taken a, partnership in a motor repair .business. He anticipated that the syndicate would drop between £600 and. £7.00 in exchange, but they were not worrying a great deal ahout that. . The ticket, he said, had been .purchased through an agent in Sydney," , . Mr. Malyon is employed in a soap ' manufacturing works in the .city while the Misses Adye are hoth employed in a city sports goods . shop. Mr. Wehh is employed in. the gasworks at Devonport but prior to that had been out of work for 18 months.
