His-leg--was badly knocked ahout, and the Auckland Hospital doctors set two -fractures near the ankle. On his •retUrn to Gisborne three weeks later, a fur•ther x-ray examination- revealed another clean break below the knee whi'eh had been overlooked in -the Auckland Hospital. Mr. Collins was admitted to the Gisborne hospital where"he remained for six weeks. During-thdt time the earthquake oecurred) andMs recovery was further set back ihy shock.
