' Dtihe^xtt,* Sattirda'y; At the Angliean Synod -last evening the Rev. Andrew Baxter, - Southland, moved that Synod appoint a .commission to inquire into the welfare of youths in view of what he pontended Yvas exaggerated pleasure, drinking and impurity among- a large numher of young people te-day. He stated that drinking, - and sometimes werse 'things,, went on -in many dance halls, and- when .people made bridge ,and golf their gods it was no wonder the young people fell short in th'e- beginning of their lives. - - The motion was amended merely tc appoint a Commission to inquire into yquth welfare, several speqkers stating they would not stigmatise youth in the terms -of the original motion.
