AWFUL VENGEANCE

A CAMEL NEVER PORGETS. Resenting being kept under undue restraint the camel of Dalip Singh, of Lah'ore, India, recently carried out a plot which ended in his master's death. The ship of the desert was fettered so frequently that it often showed its temper. Then Dalip Singh kept it tied every day. The camel apparently lost its spirit and became docile. Eneouraged hy his conquest, Dalip Singh started with the beast for a long journey. Many days afterwards a searching party found the camel crouching on the ground, with Dalip Singh lying dead by its side. The native's body was crushed and his leg was injured. Experts in camel psychology say that as soon as the bwner climhed on its hack, the beast raced for two miles in the direction opposite to that which Dalip Singh had planned to go. When in a lonely spot it turned its head, grabbed Dalip's leg hetween its teeth, dragged him to the ground, and crushed him to death.
