GRAND THEATRE
TO-NIGHT. "The Big Shot," Sddie Quillan's latest starring vehicle now showing at the Grand Theatre, brings to the talking screen something new in film entertainment ideas. The new idea is that of placing a film story against the colourful background of the great American institution, the auto. camp, dear to the hearts of millions who choke the nation's highways in pursuit of business and pleasure. Quillan" is a small-town boy with big idea". He is also gullible; so much so, in fact, that h'e attempts to enter the world of Big Business by purchasing an auto camp without first examining the property. There follow troubles galore. And to make matters worse his sweetheart throws him down flat without the benefit of an explanation. How Quillan puts the I auto camp on a paying basis and wins j his sweetheart makes for a photo- ' play which undoubtedly will take its plaee among the season's best.
