WAIMATE PLAYER WINS THE DOMINION TITLE

Timaru, Thursday. Overnigbt rain left the Highfield links in a slightly heavier state than yesterday for the final of the Dominion women's championship between Mrs. J. C. Templer (Waimate), and Miss B. Rutherford (Hawarden). Keen interest was displayed. At the end of the morning's play Mrs. Templer was four up. In the eafly stages Mrs. Templer gave a rather indiffefent displayl while lier approach shots and puttifi^" both proved erratic. MrS. Templer iniprbved and showed fine form, to asf sume a six up lead at the 11th. Miss Rutherford then rallied, to win hack three holes, but lost the 18th,. givirig her opponent a lead of four with which to coirimence the afternoon round. Later. Mrs. Templer won, 8 up and 7.
