NEW ZEALANDER DOES WELL IN KING'S PRIZE

Sydney, October 13. The first stage of the King's Prize opened in favourable weather. The' Pfince of Wates m'atch, seven shots at 300, 500 and 600 yards, was won by H. M. Nott (South' Australia) . after a sh"oot-off #ith J. Ferrin (Queensland) . E. Ballinger (New Zdaiaffd)' was hrilliant, "registeriffg 102 out" Of a pos'sible 105" att'd: secured 13th place. Other New Zealanders' scores were as follows: — O'Donnell 98, Cromie 98, A. Ballinger 96, Rule 96, Nicholl 95, W. Ballinger 95, Chapman 95, Koppert 91, Th'e Holmes shoot with a* possible of 40 resulted: — Chapman 37, Cromie 35, IsTicholl 34. Nott and Perrins have each scored 104 in the King's prize contest. Nott has already won four prizes — one in Victoria and three in South Australia. Over 150 possibles were registered yesterday at 500 yards, being a record for the Anzac range.
