SCHOOL CRICKET
ARRANGEMENTS MADE FOR APPROACHING SEASON A meeting of the Rotorua Primary Schools' Cricket • Association was held on Friday, October 7, Mr. B. M. Green occupying the chair. Also present were : Messrs. Foggin and F. Robinson. Mr. J., McCowan, headmaster of the Whakarewarewa school wrote stating that, owing to previous arrangements he was unable to attend, but that he would enter a, team in the competition. Rotorua Primary School will enter two teams A and B, and Convent School, one teani. Two rounds of the competition will be played, the games to commence on Friday, October 14. Matches between Ngongotaha and Rotorua primary will be played alternately at the respective schools. In the interests of economy it was decided that it would be permissible to use other tban leather balls. The prospects for the coming season are bright. The shield is at present held by Whakarewarewa school, the team fielded last year being a strong combination. Practice is being commenced at all schools, where it is recognised that the future of the game must be largely determined. List of Fixtures The draw is as follows: — First Round, October 14: — Rotorua A v. Oonvent; Rotorua B v. W haka. Sccond Series: — Rotorua B v. Convent; Ngongotaha v. Whaka. Third Series: — Rotorua A v. Rotorua B; Ngongotaha v. Convent. Fourth Series: — Rotorua B v. Ngongotaha; Rotorua A v. Whaka. Fiith Round : — Rotorua A v. Ngongotaha; Convent v. Whaka.
