London, Oct. 3. Mr. Jam.es McNeill lunched with His Majesty the King and submitted •his resignation. It is understood the King approved of Mr. McNeill's relinquishment of the office. x It was suggested that Mr. McNeill's audienee with the King was due to the Free State Cabinet's request for his recall, arid is interpreted as a pre— lude to the abolition of the office of G o vernor- Gener al.
