Washington, Oct. 2.^ The Lytton report was reeeived with intense interest in ofiicial circles to-day. It is generally believed that it, broadly coincides with the attitude taken by the United States. All officials withheld comment, pending careful study of the report. Mr. H. L. Stimson, Foreigrf Secretary, did not read the report during the day as he returned late from an engagement in Philadelphia. It is understood that the Government intends to make no move in the Manchurian situation at present as they eontinue to hold that the only proper course is to await the action of the League which undertook to report to Washington.
