HEAVY YARDING OF SHEEP AND CATTLE AT MATAMATA Matamata, Friday. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report: — At Matamata sale yesterday an extra heavy yarding of cattle and sheep came forward. Sheep. The yarding' consisted mainly of fat hoggets, these being sold at late quotations. Cattle: Fat cattle maintained last salo's values while store cattle of all classes sold readily. Dairy Cattle: The advertised herd of dairy heifcrs in full milk, on account oi' Mr. II. A. Mathioson, came forward in good condition and met with spirited bidding. A good demand existed for quality cows and springing heifers. Pigs. A good entry of pigs both fat and store, came forward. The fat pigs were of good quality, mostly baeoners, which met with a steady sale. Stores and weaners were in lceen demand and sold at increased rates. Quotations: Sheep: Fat ewes, shorn 8/4, woolly fat ewes 9/7, shorn fat wethers to 11/-,' fat hoggets 11/2 to 13/-, lighter fat hoggets 9/2 to 10/6. Cattle: Medium fat steers £5 15/-, lig'ht fat steers £4, heavy fat cows £6 5/-, fat heifers £4 5/- to £5, medium fat cows £3 13/- to £4 5/-, light fat cows £2 10/- to £1 11/-, fresh store cows £1 to £1 7/-, boners 5/- to 18/-, 2yr heifei'S 30/- to £3 1/-, 21yr S.H. steers £3 2/- to £3 7/-, 2yr M.C. steers £2 3/-, grown Jersey cross steers £2 14/-, yearling S.H. steers £1 19/- to £1 10/-, infierior yearling steers 7/- to £1, choice yearling Jersey heifers £3 1/- to £4, medium sorts £2 to £2 15/-, small and inferior sorts £1 to £1 15/-, yearling Friesian heifers £2 15/-, potter bulls £.1 to £1 15/-.
