REMOVAL OF HOARDINGS.
To the Editor. Sir, — I was reading in the Auckland Herald of September 29 an article regarding removal of unsightly hoardings. I think it is very nice of the Shell Oil Co. to remove their hoardings as the Governor-General wishes, as he is a lover of nature, and there are many more the same as himself. I sincerely hope that the people of Rotorua will follow the Shell Company's example, as with all these unsightly advertising hoardings all around it gives our town a povertystricken appearance. What with the hoardings and the touting, it is a disgrace to Rotorua. During this depression we are all suffering, but why spoil all the beauties of nature by poverty-stricken hoardings. — I am, etc., LIVE AND LET LIVE. Rotorua, September 29, 1932.
