LARGE SPECIMEN OF "SULPHUR BQTTOM" SPECIES

Opotiki Monday. • A party of relief workers from lxear Te Kaha on the East Coast Road report that Messrs J. Pirini, J. Foy and A. Dane, sighted a whale while fishing from a small boat recently. Tlxe whale was wh'at is kixown as a "sulphur hottomed whale" and was about 80 feet long. It passed within about 20 yards of the boat which was lxearly swanxped by the swell whexx the big mammal submerged.
