4 ^ Whakatane, Saturday. The Whakatane Athletic and Cycling Club staged a „oad race to-clay over a course of 21 u miles. Seven riders competeu, the limit man, Harland, ro.oi.'ing seven rninntes start ahead of D. Aberhart, scratcli man. The race resulted: — W. Archer, 1 ; W. R. Hanren, 2 : A. Stewart, 3. Han.jen secured Xastest time. On a handicap oi' 30 soconds ne jnade the pace a cj acker, his actual time for the courst- being 54 mmutes. Aberhart had pi eviously held the record foi chis pavticular run with 56 minutes.
