i London, Sept. 24. ' " In the final of the "News of the World" £1000 golf tournament T. H. Cq,ttoh (Langley Park) defeated A. Perry (Leatherhead) , 10 and 8. Henry Cotton's sweeping victory in dull, drizzly weather at Moor Park is sure to become historic, as he showed magnificent form which would probably have beaten any living golfer. He was, -six up at the end of the first round, - which he completed in 65 — 11 strokes below bogey. Perry really played well, but yas out-classed by the most brilliqnt round of Cotton's career. Cotton throughout aimed at par figures fpr every hole, and' generally achieved it. He showed no relaxatipn or deterior■ation in the second round. T. H. Cotton was runner-up in this competition in 1928 and in 1930.
