satisfactory SETTLEMENT in british COTTON strike

Rec. Sept. 25, 11.58 p.m. London, Sept. 25. The cotton strike has been settled, and the mills will be re-opened on Wednesday. The wages have been reduced by 1/81 in the pound, compared with the employers' reduction of 2/- in the pound. The employers have agreed to urge re-employment of displaced operatives at the earliest possible date. The "more looms to weaver" system will not be extended pending joint consideration.
