MAN OF MAYFAIR
DELIGHTFUL HUMOUR IN JACK BUCHANAN FEATURE. - "MODERN CINDERELLA." A splendid array of stage and screen t-lent was assemhled for the latest British production, "Man of Mayfair," which will he shown at th'e Majestic Theatre on Thursday next. Jack Buchanan is the star, in the - part of a titled "man about town," whose love for a pretty dancer leads j him into some definitely humorous j situations, and Joan Barry is his.lead- j ing lady. Nora Swinhurne, lieroine of "Tliese Charming People"; Warwick [ Ward, on.j of our finett screen ac- ; tors; Ellaline Terriss and Lillian j Braithwaite, both stage and screen | eelebrities; Cyril Raymond, Sebastian | Smith, Charles Quartermaine and J. j Fisher White eomplete the hrilliant cast. Jack Buchanan has -the perfeetly fitting role of the young and wealthy Lord Kinsgland, whose light-hearted love aflfairs are the despair of his seri-ous-minded Aunt Sarah (Lillian Braithwaite). fair with Elaine Barclay (Noia Svv in- j burne), whose husband (Warwick j Ward), has returned from India on ; leave, William, Lord Kingsland, rre- j tends that he has become Infatuated ^ with Graca Irving (Joan Bany), a j new and fascinating ^dancer who ^is i delighting London iri"' the successxul J revue, "Lazy Ladies." To carry out his bluff, William ohtains ap introduc- ! tion to the dancer, and does become | infatuated with her — more than that, • he falls gemunely in love. But although he discovers that his lady love is a modern Cinderella, shedcling her heautiful clothes before she goes j home at 12 o'clock each night to a eottags in the country— -where she pretends to her mother that she is merely the famous Miss Irving's dresser— he
is not able to play the part of her "Prince Charming" until he has braved many dangers (including the stings ' of angry bees), for her sake.
