GAMING AMENDMENT BILL NOT RECEIVED SERIOUSLY
Wellington, Friday. There was loud laughter in the House to-day when Mr. H. T. Armstrong (Christchurch East) again introduced his Gaming Amendment Bill which aims at the licensing of boolcmakers. Mr. A. E. Jull (Waipawa) asked whether the Prime Minister would consider fixing a definite date for the taking of the vote on the Address-in-Reply debate. The Prime Minister (Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes) said the Government was anxious to curtail the debate, but tbe matter was one for the House." He would be pleased to confer with the Leader of the Opposition to see if any arrangement could be made.
