-By TelegTaph— Cor vright).
Rec. Sept. 23, 7.0 p.m. Loadon, Sept. 23. The Morning Post Dublin correspondent says that as a sequel to the spceeh of Mr. W. T. Cosgrave, in whieh he stated his party intended ,xo exercise their rights of free speech despite the bullying intiinidation of Mr, do Valera, the Government is seriously contcmplating its supreme act of folly, namely the arrest- of Mr. Cosgrave under the Public Safety Act. Mr. S. O'Kelly presided at a Cabinet meeting to consider Mr. Cosgrave's speech, following which the Irish Press, (Mr. 'de Valera's organ) threatened Mr. Cosgrave with arrest if he persisted *in oppofition to the Government. The artiele added that Mr. Cosgrave could be placed on trial before a military tribunal. Replying* to the Goveinment challenges, Mr. Cosgrave dcfied the Government to arrest h:m. adcling that he will repeat the statemcnt until members of the Government have the eourago to carry out their threats, courage being the only thing preventing tliem from tukhig the action already. The MoirJng* Post expresses the
(•pinlou that ihe arrest of Mr. Cosgrave wophi precipitate tlie crisis which would sweep the Government out of existenee.
