GERMAN RESENTMENT

London, Sept. 20. The Times' Berlin correspondent says that the British statement on the German demand for armament equality, has been received amid surprise and resentment, because there is sueh sharp criticism concerning the unwisdom of the German effoi'ts. Such uncompromising repudiation of the German legal arguments was nowhere expected. The resentment aris es because of the suggestion that th'e German action might hinder the harmonious work of the disarmament conference.
