Gisborne, Tuesday. Only one shock was experienced at Gisborne this morning, occurring at 7 o'clock. Over 700 applications have been forwarded to the Unemployment Bur-

eau for assistance in clearing debris, removing broken chimneys and replacing tanks, etc., and over 200 relief workers are engaged in rehabilitation work to private residences. The clock tower above the Post Office, which was badly fractured in two plaees, is considered to he so dangerous that the work of removing it will eommence to-morrow morning.
