TO PREVENT DAZZLE
INGENIOUS DEYICE. Some of the latest British cars are being fitted with a windscrean of more than ordinary interest which is intended to prevent dazzle. The screen consists of two sheets of unsplinterable glass, which normally are lreld close together. The frame in which the panes are set is surrounded hy a watertight reservoir, which is filled with a coloured liquid. By the pressure of a lever this liquid can he foreed hetween the two plates temporarily to shade the screen blue, green, or any other tint desired to prevent dazzle. By releasing the control lever the plates close together again, forcing out the coloured fiuid and enabling the screen to assume its normal colour. The device is applicable to the rear light for the purpose of preventing the reffection of the headlamps of following cars in the mirror, and to headlamps, either for the purpose of preventing dazzle or for obtaining a light suitahly covered for fog penetration purposes.
