THE BUDGET

PROBABLY PRESENTED IN HOUSE NEXT WEEK Wellington, Monday. Replying to a question the Premier, Hon. G-. W. Forbes, said to-day that the Budget will be presented in the House possibly next week. He intended to release the final report of the National Expenditure commission simultaneously with the Budget and Estimates, to give members a comprehensive survey of the country's financial position. The Prime Minister announces that there will not be a general revision of the tariff in the coming session. Alterations would be made to conform with the Ottawa undertakings. There was no intention to set up a commision of the board to take prior evidence or hear representations.
