CYCLING

A team's race over a course of 17J miles was condueted by the Whakatane Athletic and Cycling Club on Saturday. Five teams of two riders entered and that the pace was fast is revealed by the winning team's time of 45min lOsec. The teams were despatched at minute intervals and a large gathering of spectators witnessed some very fine riding. The result was Aberhart and Archer 1, Hansen and Coulter 2, Whitten and Nowland 3. Hansen, Archer and Aberhart are riding well and are expected to be . in great form by October 14, when they will ride in the Cambridge to Auckland road race.
